Visual Presentation

When creating your (2-minute) visual presentation, there are basic guidelines that should be followed in order to make your video clear, specific and informative.

These simple steps can alleviate stress and make filming easier.

1. Plan your film- Use a storyboard and/or script.

2. Know your audience- Know who you are addressing in your message and what type of audience you are trying to attract.

3. Get your equipment. You may need a video camera, several if you can manage it. Other things will help, such as additional microphones, lighting fixtures, spare tapes/discs, and tripods. You can also use power point or any other software that will help create your visual presentation.

4. If you decide to add sound, be sure to find a quiet place to record where background noise will not interfere with the video. Speak loudly.

5. When finished, watch the visual presentation and look for areas that need tweaking. Get a second opinion. Be open to suggestions.

You must:

  • Limit your visual presentation to be no longer than 2 minutes.
  • Address your audience. Your audience are those committed in improving education in Delaware.
